iEARN-Moldova team wins grant from US Embassy
In August 2016 iEARN-Moldova in collaboration with American Councils Moldova recruited 35 teachers eager to learn the secrets of digital storytelling as part of the "EFL Youth Voices" Project implemented with the financial support of US Embassy to Moldova. iEARN-Master teachers Daniela Munca-Aftenev, Corina Ceban and iEARN-Moldova Country Coordinator Olga Morozan, put together the proposal which won the 2016 ECA/A/L Innovation Fund grant meant to support creative, non-traditional, cutting edge, sustainable English language programs. Our project was one of the 11 international winners from Laos, India, Peru, Russia, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Ukraine and Tajikistan. The launching event, organised on August 20, was attended by Joseph Tordella, Public Affairs Officer at U.S. Embassy in Chisinau.
Our students' creativity is recognized worldwide
Two video projects created by iEARN-Moldova students from Leova and Drochia were selected among winners of the International iEARN Virtual Media Festival
I was glad to learn that the film I created was preliminarily selected by the review panel for screening during the iEARN Virtual Media Festival. I have created this film in several weeks, because it was a lot of work. At the beginning I had to decide who would be my hero. Then I interviewed Mrs. Maria from whom I learned many wonderful things about her life. Then after a hard work the video appeared. I must say that with Mrs. Rata’s help it was much easier, with her advice, corrections, everything was more effective. When Mrs. Rata informed us about this project, showing us many videos with people from other countries who were heroes for someone, in that moment I felt inspired. I understood that in my country, in my village there are many personalities who serve as an example to other people. Then I decided to show to the world my hero! Thanks to iEARN I learned that the world is much bigger than it seemed to us, and I saw what was behind the horizon. We should make acquaintance with the world, with more people. Due to iEARN projects I met many students from other countries like USA, Taiwan, Georgia, I learned more about the culture of these countries. I was very interested to work on these projects, because I gained more experience, I advanced my level of English language and I made many friends. Thanks iEARN! |
